The inaugural Revere Beach 5K will be held at 8:30am on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 along the shoreline of America’s first public beach. Don’t miss this rare

opportunity to run a beach race in New England! The out and back course travels entirely on hard-packed sand, offering you a cushioned, comfortable running surface. The race will be professionally timed by New England Timing, withoverall and age

group categories: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+

The Revere Beach 5K is being held in memory of Gene Grant who recently lost his battle with Leukemia. Since the race entry fee is so low (and below cost), we ask that everyone please make an additional donation of at least $10 to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Gene Grant.

Pre-registration:
Pre-register online for just $5 until 12noon on Friday, June 19th. Online registration will remain open until 8pm on Friday, June 19th but the fee increases to $10.  First 100 pre-reg entrants get a free tshirt!  You must be a member of Facebook to pre-register online; sorry, no exceptions. We will have race-bag pick-up on Friday, Jun. 19th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Marathon Sports, 671 Boylston Street in Boston.

Race day registration:
Race day registration is $10; free tshirts while supplies last. Registration opens at 7:00am and closes at 8:00am.

Course description:
This 5Km out and back course travels entirely on hard-packed sand, offering you a cushioned, comfortable running surface. The course will be staffed by volunteers with water stations near the one and two mile points.

Volunteers (or their significant others) run for free!
We are seeking volunteers to help with several aspects of the event; please email info@psyclonesports.com for more information and to sign up. Volunteers will receive a free tshirt and a refund of their entry fee.

Getting to the race:
Take the T! Our start/finish area is conveniently located across the street from the Revere Beach Station on the MBTA Blue Line. If you’re driving to the race, there is plenty of free parking along Revere Beach Boulevard.
