2013 RACE Thursday 5K Summer Series
Join us on SIX terrific Thursday evenings this summer for fun, friendly, chip-timed 5K runs! The races are held along the Charles River in Boston at the DCR’s Artesani Park on Soldiers Field Road. Like last year, the series will benefit the Melanoma Foundation of New England. All races include a post-race party at Tommy Doyle’s in Harvard Square with half-priced appetizers and beer generously provided by our wonderful sponsors.
New for 2013, we will have TWO races: each event will start with a women-only 5K race, followed by an open 5K approximately 30 minutes later. Ladies: this means you get to run in either or both races (same bib #) for no additional fee! Your faster time will count for points.
Top 3 overall in the women-only race
Top 3 male & female overall in the coed/open race
Age group winners based on combined results of both races (21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+)
Fastest team based on combined results of both races (lowest cumulative time of 1st, 3rd & 5th fastest members)
2013 Season (6 events) Points Competition:
Top 3 male & female overall (total points from coed/open races)
Top 3 in each age group (total points from all races)
Top 3 fastest teams
Scoring points, explained:
Overall winners (female & male) each get 1,000 points. Then we’ll divide the winner’s time by your time and multiply it by 1,000 points to determine your score. Yeah guys, that female behind you may score more points than you.
Season pass (all 6 events): $117
Early registration: $25/event
Raceday registration: $30/event
Share your result to Facebook as soon as you cross the finish line! We’ll have RaceMenu’s Share application live before each race. The link will be sent out before each event to pre-registered runners & posted on the Run Against Cancer Events Facebook page – stay tuned on how to get connected.
